The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has indicated that government is not only aimed at building roads across the country.

He added that it was also focused on its people and how to reduce their suffering.

He made this known at a sod-cutting ceremony for works to begin on the upgrading of inner roads within all the Garrisons of the Ghana Armed Forces.

According to Dr Bawumia, government is not just building roads but also focused on building a country and reducing the suffering of Ghanaian people.

“We are not just building roads and infrastructure; we are building a country. We are building an inclusive, modern economy while at the same time reducing the suffering of our people.

Bawumia noted that the 250 kilometres of asphalt, bituminous surfacing and reconstruction form part of the ongoing Barracks Re-generation Project which has seen President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo commission among others a 64-block housing unit at the Duala Barracks of Burma Camp, Armoured Fighting Vehicles and vehicles of all types including pickups/patrol vehicles, over 50 comfortable buses as well as several ongoing projects across the garrisons across the country.

According to him, government is not relenting on its Agenda of declaring this year ‘The Year of Roads’, even in the face of the crisis of the COVID 19 pandemic facing us.

In other news, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has stated that even in 100 years, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), would never achieve what the NPP has achieved in three years.

According to him, the NPP is making ready it's manifesto of promises and achievements to let Ghanaians appreciate their achievements in the last three years.

For him, the Akufo-Addo-led government has done far better than the NDC.
