Only those who want to be poor do farming; graduates should not go there - Ken Agyapong

Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has revealed that in Ghana, those who venture into farming are people with poor mindsets.

According to him, it is only those who pray to be poor who venture into farming as a profession.

Speaking in an interview on JoyNews, he explained that it amuses him whenever he hears people who are supposed to do something better with their lives saying they are going into farming.

“When you wake up in the morning and you pray that God let me be poor, then you go into farming,” he told Joy News.

According to him, the NPP government keeps paying lip service to farming while telling the youth to go into farming. According to him, there was nothing to gain from farming.

“I challenge the government; what are the inputs for you to go into farming? They are just talking. I’ve been there and I’m telling you, if I go to university, I will not go into farming. Hell no!” Ken Agyapong said.

He, however, advised that anyone who wants to be serious and make it in life must leave the village out of their plans and hustle in the bigger towns.

In other news, Kennedy Agyapong, has revealed that the job of an MP is the “most stupid” if you take away that of an Assemblyman.

The legislator said Ghanaians hate the truth and also mistake boldness for arrogance. Mr. Agyapong also revealed that his most favorite thing in the world is money.
