Premier League champions Manchester City have confirmed the death of their legend Glyn Pardoe who lost his life at the age of 73 after a long battle with serious illness.
Pardoe would always be remembered by those at the Etihad stadium for being the youngest player ever to play for the Citizens at the age of 15.
In 1968, Glyn Pardoe's impressive performances helped Manchester City to win the League title and also scored the winner in the League Cup final two years later.
The Englishman spent his entire football career at Manchester City between the year 1962 to 1976 where he played over 300 games for the Citizens.
Pardoe kicked off his career as a forward, usually playing on the left despite being right-footed.
As his career went on, he was converted into a full-back and would finish his career as a defender.
He retired from playing football in 1976 and took up a role in the coaching staff at Manchester City where he was until the year 1992.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Barcelona defender Nelson Semedo reportedly emerged as summer transfer target for Manchester City who are ready to bolster their squad ahead of next Premier League season.
Pep Guardiola who is the Citizens' manager wants the Portuguese footballer to produce serious competition for England international Kyle Walker at the Etihad stadium.
According to the report on Daily Mail, Manchester City are even ready to give Barcelona Joao Cancelo plus cash for the possibility of them to sign Nelson Semedo this summer.
Cancelo has found active games difficult under Pep Guardiola playing only eight Premier League games for the reigning Premier League champions.
Semedo moved to the Nou Camp from Benfica where he had played alongside Bernardo Silva for the club’s B team when the pair were teenagers.
However, Manchester City must be aware that other Premier League side like Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested in signing Semedo.
Semedo and his teammates at Barcelona are preparing for the resumption of the League season which is next month.
