Maverick Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has revealed that about 80% of the fake Ghanaian pastors hail from the Ashanti Region.

According to him, these statistics come from investigations he carried out. Although he can't explain why it is so.

The Assin Central MP who has vowed to expose fake pastors in the country said these 'stomach' pastors are mostly young men who have promoted themselves from magicians to men of God.

Speaking on Net2 TV's 'The Seat Show, he added that these people operate with the aim of duping innocent people to acquire their wealth.

"My investigations so far tells me that they (the fake pastors) are very young pastors and about 80% are from Kumasi. I can't explain why but from my investigation most of them are from the Ashanti Region," he said.

Kennedy Agyapong stated that the worrying trend of the activities of these fake pastors was the rate at which they were destroying marriages and relationships as well as duping people.

“They are not only duping people, they are able to destroy marriages as well . . . Because of their thirst for people’s spouses, they say all sorts of lies to make some women leave their men so they can go into relationships with them," he added.

He, however, sounded a note of caution to Ghanaians to be wary of these men who pose as pastors to wreak havoc in their lives in their quest to find salvation and solution to their life problems.
