In a field of sports which is largely male-dominated, Evelyn Nsiah-Asare, has shattered glass ceilings after being named the only female personality on the nine-member Board of Directors for football club Asante Kotoko.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the life patron of Asante Kotoko named Evelyn Nsiah-Asare among a nine-member Board of Directors set up to steer affairs of the footballing club.

The high-achieving woman will be working together with her equally capable male counterparts to help the team return to its earlier glory days.

In 2019, Evelyn Nsiah-Asare was selected to be on the Organizing Committee of Normalization Committee Special Competition, which had former Black Stars defender Samuel Osei Kuffour as the chairman.

With over 18 years of experience in football administration, she is better positioned to bring her expertise to help Asante Kotoko win more laurels.

Myfabulousonline.com reports that the current president of Nana Afia Kobi Ampem Ladies Sporting Club in Kumasi is highly educated with a master's in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

She also holds an undergraduate degree in Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sports and another bachelor’s 1st Degree in Procurement Management.

Evelyn Nsiah-Asare is currently pursuing her M.phil in Procurement Management to enable her to start her PhD.

She was a Physical Education mistress for Serwaa Nyarko Girls Senior High School for four years in the Ashanti Region before heading to Atwima Kwawomma as Physical Education Coordinator.

The enterprising female football administrator has been a lecturer at the Procurement and Supply Chain Management Department at the Sunyani Technical University since 2012.

She’s the sport manager of Sunyani Technical University.

In the media circles, Madam Evelyn Nsiah Asare has worked with 6 media houses across the country.

Her interest in journalism cannot be overemphasized, she was a radio presenter and analyst at Fox FM (Kumasi), Assistant Head of Sports at Space FM (Sunyani) and Radio Sports Presenter and Analyst at Kapital Radio (Kumasi), Analyst on Metro FM and Kessben FM as well as Trust TV.

In 2007, Madam Evelyn Nsiah Asare, Nana Bayin Eyison, Madam Habiba Atta and Coach Oti Akenteng took the Black Damsels to Switzerland for FIFA U-14 exhibition tournament and won the cup.

She became a Management Committee Member for the national women U17 in 2012 and after some years, she was moved to U20 as a Management Committee Member till 2017 when she became a Welfare Officer for the Senior National Women’s team, Black Queens.

Having attended all courses that are needed in sports as an administrator, she has been equipped with the necessary skills to carry perform her role in the nine-member board.

She started from the Ben Koffie four-year business and development plan course.

Also, she partook in the FIFA Women’s grassroots coaching course from 2010 organized by the world football governing body, FIFA.

She recently attended the Sports Administration and Management Course organised by National Sports College in Winneba and has attained a CAF license C coaching certificate.

Evelyn Nsiah-Asare was a Local Organizing Committee Member in the AWCON 2018 held in Ghana.

In 2019, she was also named to be interviewed as a member of the Normalisation Committee but she backed out due to her engagement with the Black Queens and the LOC at the time.

Evelyn Nsiah-Asare brings to the board, years of experience much needed to help Asante Kototo return to the elite.

In other stories, YEN.com.gh reported that Abena Safo Kantanka is among the few successful graduates who have made careers in the field of farming.

After she graduated from senior high school with WASSCE certification in Agricultural Science, she went on to pursue her bachelor's degree in Development Communication at AUCC.

In spite of the challenges women in least-developed countries face, Abena Safo Kantanka began farming whilst in the university with goats and just a sheep in Damango and an acre of maize farm.
