Not more than 100 people should be in church or mosque; service not more than 1 hour

President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has announced that as part of measures to ease restrictions on social gatherings, not more than 100 persons can be present for religious activities.

According to President Akufo-Addo, with effect from Friday, June 5, 2020, the country would begin stage one of the easing of restrictions.

He stated that religious activities can commence with 25% of congregants in attendance with a strict adherence to a one-metre social distancing rule.

In other news, a pressure group, Center for Ethical Governance and Administration (CEGA), has underscored the need for the country to be under lockdown for 10 days.

They, however, called on President Akufo-Addo not to ease restriction as the number of Coronavirus cases has surged to over 7000.

According to CEGA, government should use the 10 days to undertake or conduct mass testing to curtail the spread of the disease.
