President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in his 1oth national address on updates on the coronavirus pandemic has increased the number required for social gatherings.
According to the president in his update on May 31, 2020, increased the number of people required to be at social gatherings from 25 to 100.
By this, private burials, weddings, engagements, church services and mosque attendants, can sit up to 100 people instead of the 25 people that had been enforced since March 27, 2020.
President Akufo-Addo however indicated that all leaders or organizers of such gatherings were to ensure strict compliance to social distancing rules.
He also urged people to provide water and soap at such gatherings so as to ensure the washing of hands to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus.
In talking about compliance, President Akufo-Addo said many state agencies had been empowered to ensure that these restrictions that had been eased would not be flouted.
Akufo-Addo, in giving further details, said only political rallies could not be held since they had the possibility of attracting more than 100 people at a time.
