President Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump, was dragged on social media after she used Bible verses to comfort citizens mourning the death of George Floyd.

Floyd died at the hands of police officers and his death has sparked a massive reaction across the country.

On Sunday, Ivanka took to her Twitter account to share her condolences and words of encouragement for those who are mourning.

The president's daughter used scripture, 2 Kings 20 verse 5, to comfort mourners.

Take a look at her post below:

In another post, she sent her condolences to Floyd's family, writing:

"People in Minneapolis are hurting for a reason. Justice is how we heal. My heart goes out to George Floyd‘s family and all Americans who are hurting."

While there were those who appreciated her words, others quickly clapped back with their own Bible verses and the remarks her father made about Floyd's death.

Twitter user, @HalfOnionInABag, commented:

"This is what your dad said: 'When the looting starts, the shooting starts'.”

Another tweep, @pablo_honey1, added:

"I'm so tired of these grifters quoting scripture while enabling the most immoral president in American history."

People are not happy with how President Trump has handled Floyd's death. Across the country, riots and protests started as citizens demanded justice for Floyd.

Trump was allegedly taken to an underground bunker in the White House after rioters gathered outside the premises housing the US president and his family.

The incident was said to have occurred on Friday night when protests erupted outside the White House over the police killing of George Floyd by a police officer in the city of Minneapolis.

Taking to Twitter, the US Head of State praised the Secret Service for handling the situation and he threw shade at protestors.

Trump tweeted:

"Great job last night at the White House by the U.S. @SecretService. They were not only totally professional, but very cool. I was inside, watched every move, and couldn’t have felt more safe. They let the “protesters” scream and rant as much as they wanted."

Earlier, Floyd Mayweather joined those who called for justice for George Floyd.

The boxing legend has offered to pay for George Floyd's funeral - a gesture his family has reportedly accepted.
