Radio presenter and journalist, Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart, has revealed that President Akufo-Addo would win the 2020 elections hands down if it was conducted today

Captain Smart stated that President Akufo-Addo has high chances of retaining his seat following how well he and his ministers managed the COVID-19 pandemic when the first cases were recorded.

He made this known in an exclusive interview with Zion Felix on the ‘Uncut Show’, on the sidelines of the launch of Angel FM.

Building his argument, Captain Smart said Akufo-Addo's global recognition in his efforts to curtail the spread of the coronavirus would land him (Akufo-Addo) a landslide victory over his opponents in the upcoming elections.

According to him, it is obvious that Akufo-Addo has managed the COVID-19 issue excellently.

Captain Smart also lauded the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah for his unbridled effort in information dissemination during these times.

In other news, about 120 members of the National Democratic Congress in the Bugya Pala community in the Walewale Constituency have defected to the New Patriotic Party.

In a statement, the Deputy Regional Secretary of the NPP in the North East Region, Ibrahim Yamusah said the move was as a result of the good developmental projects that the New Patriotic Party was executing in the constituency.

He added that it all started when Chief Paabobadana had a dream to move his family from the NDC to the NPP.
