Former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan, is pondering on venturing into politics after hanging his boots.

As reported by YEN.com.gh, Gyan revealed that the constituents of Weija-Gbawe, are rooting for him to become their Member of Parliament soon.
According to the report, the parliamentary move was as a result of Gyan's initiatives prior to, during and even the outbreak of COVID-19 in Ghana.

The football star has been engaged in many philanthropic acts for years and his most recent moves of constructing a road and providing COVID-19 relief for the people in the constituency probably highlighted his political ambitions.
The said statement from Gyan has drawn mixed reactions from some social media users.

YEN.com.gh reported a story of how Gyan sponsored the construction of a rough road in an area in Accra.
Gyan in an Instagram live video on Sunday, May 17, revealed that he’s paying for the full cost of constructing the road.
According to Asamoah Gyan, the raining season has made the unmotorable hence his decision to construct it with his own funds.
