American rapper and songwriter Tekashi 6ixnine appears to be working hard to release his first musical project after regaining freedom from prison.

Just recently, the rapper took to his official page on the photo-sharing app, Instagram, to give his fans and followers a sneak peek into what he has been up to.

Apparently, Tekashi teamed up with Senegalese-American music star Akon, to work on his 2003 hit song, Locked Up.

From indication, the song will still be taking its old form with a new addition being Tekashi’s verse that has been laid on the track.

In the video, Tekashi raps about how he has a feeling of regret and putting in efforts to strike a good deal for himself with the help of his lawyers. The flamboyant rapper also wrote verses about wanting to be with his daughter again.

Sharing the clip on his IG page, Tekashi informed his fans and followers that he would be releasing the new joint if he gets as much as 100k comments.

"100,000 comments if you want this locked up part 2 im on album mode this album going crazyyyyyyy @akon," he wrote.

However, after the video racked up more than 100k comments, the rapper edited his caption.

In other news, YEN.com.gh reported that rapper MI Abaga called out Akon for tagging Wizkid as his little brother. MI’s post generated controversy, with many suggesting that Akon is well within his rights.

The rapper maintained his position, even after tweets of Wizkid calling Akon his big brother surfaced online.
