The United States of America House and Senate Democrats have held a memorial service in honour of George Floyd, the Black man who was murdered.
In a video and photos sighted by YEN.com.gh, the Democrats had decorated their necks with Ghana’s Kente cloth.
They were captured kneeling as they mourn the death of Floyd.
Led by Nancy Patricia Pelosi, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, the Democrats observed an 8-minutes, 46 seconds silence to Floyd.
The time is significant in that it is the exact duration he was tortured by the police until his last breath.
The Democrats are also reported to have planned to unveil police reform triggered by the murder of Floyd and other black people in the past.
The murder of Goerge Floyd has sparked a worldwide protest.
Many Black people in America and even American citizens have joined in the protest, calling for the head of the police officers involved in the bizarre act.
In an earlier report by YEN.com.gh, Floyd's daughter paid a touching tribute to him saying: "Daddy has changed the world".
His baby mama also spoke about the issue, demanding justice to be served.
