- 498 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the country

Ghana’s COVID-19 case count has risen to 10,856 after 498 new cases were confirmed.
This is according to the Ghana Health Service’s latest update on Friday morning [June 12, 2020.]
Ninety-seven (97) additional persons who contracted the virus have now recovered, raising the recovery count to 3,921.

However, six persons are currently in critical condition and sixteen (16) are also in severe condition.
According to the Ghana Health Service’s latest update, a total of 242,218 tests have so far been conducted.
The Greater Accra Region still leads the chart with over 6,000 cases with the Ashanti and Western REgions following behind.

In other news, sixteen out of the 48 recorded deaths of the coronavirus disease in Ghana have been buried by the Environmental Health Division of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly
The 16 bodies represent the 27 families that registered their dead family members for burial.
Among the 16 bodies buried was the 9-year-old boy who reportedly passed away at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
