COVID-19: Medical Director at Kwadaso SDA hospital passes on

Information reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that the Medical Director at the of the SDA Hospital at Kwadaso, Dr. Harry Boateng in the Ashanti region has passed on over the weekend due to COVID-19.

According to the Ghana Health Service, the doctor, whose name was given as Dr Harry Boateng, tested positive for the virus.

Starr News, reports that all those who came in contact with him are to be traced and tested for the virus which has so far taken the lives of 54 people.

His death adds up to the 54 cases of death recorded by the Ghana Health Service and as stated by the president in his 11th address to the state.

In a related development, President Akufo-Addo announced that the Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, had also contracted the virus and was receiving treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre.

The minister has however in response stated that he is doing well and so responding to treatment

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh earlier reported that 111 health workers in the central region had tested positive for the coronavirus disease.

Our report indicated that out of the number recorded, 45 of them were on admission at various health centres within the region receiving and responding to treatment.

This is not the first time health workers, especially the frontline staff have bee reported to have contracted the deadly coronavirus.
