A Kumasi-based popular man of God, Apostle Dr. King Dirl Airl Mashal, founder and leader of the Soldiers Of Christ Prayer Group Of All Nations, has asked President Nana Akufo-Addo to either lift the ban on churches fully or risk the suspension of the 2020 general elections and the possible shutdown of Parliament House.
President Akufo-Addo imposed a ban on churches in March 2020, as part of efforts to contain the novel coronavirus that has buffeted the country. Last month, the president partially lifted the ban, allowing churches to open with just 25% of their congregation and for one hour. However, not more than 100 people are allowed to congregate at a particular time.
The move, however, has not pleased Apostle Mashal, who told our correspondent in Kumasi, King Amoah, that Akufo-Addo would face the wrath of God over the partial lifting of the ban on churches because of the conditions he imposed on the reopening, including that services last only one hour.

The apostle claimed that Nana Addo’s decision was an effort to hijack the word of God and punish Christians and Muslims using the COVID-19 pandemic as a pretext.
He said God was very angry at Nana Addo and had revealed to him that if the president wished to maintain his presidential seat in the 2020 elections, he should immediately lift the current restrictions on places of worship.
Apostle Mashal said that if Akufo-Addo failed to comply, the 2020 elections would be suspended and Parliament would be closed down.
This, he said, would be caused massive deaths from a rising pandemic that will hit Ghana very hard.

He said Parliament would be one of the hardest-hit places, leading to the shutting down of the facility. He said it would take 935 days before parliament would reconvene.
According to the apostle, Akufu-Addo cannot decide for God, adding that in the revelation he received, God made it clear to him that Christians and Muslims deserve to worship and praise God at their own will at all times without conditions.
Apostle Mashal claimed that no earthly person had an antidote to stop COVID-19, except the Lord, warning that Akuffo Addo would throw the country into chaos if he did not immediately allow religious to worship without any restrictions.
