Ghanaian baby born prematurely & got COVID-19 becomes Britain's youngest survivor

- A premature baby born to Ghanaian parents in Britain has become the country's youngest COVID-19 survivor

- The young baby by name Emmanuel Boateng was in intensive care after being born 3 months earlier than his standard date

Emmanuel Boateng, a young baby born in Britain to Ghanaian parents has become the country's youngest survivor of COVID-19 after fully recovering from the pandemic.

The young child's mother narrated the incident in a video report sighted by YEN.com.gh on the verified YouTube channel of The Telegraph.

The woman indicated that after learning that her tiny baby had been infected with the novel coronavirus, all her hopes were dashed completely and she lost all prospects of having her baby back in good health.

What made matters worse was that young Emmanuel was born three months before his standard delivery date and spent the first few weeks of his life in intensive care, after which he was discharged.

Reports indicate that just 10 days later, the baby fell ill and was rushed to Kings College Hospital where he was diagnosed with both sepsis and coronavirus.

Emmanuel spent 37 days in the hospital with the virus, 21 in intensive care, where the newborn’s parents were unable to visit him due to social distancing restrictions until his recovery.
