NPP to acclaim Akufo-Addo on June 27 for December 2020 elections

- Nana Akufo-Addo will be acclaimed by the NPP on June 27, as the party's flagbearer for election 2020

- The President is the only person who filed when the party opened nominations

- This was revealed in a statement signed by NPP General Secretary John Boadu

President Nana Addo will be acclaimed by his party as the only candidate who filed his nomination to contest in the party's presidential primaries on June 27, 2020.

The acclamation will be done at a special national council meeting in Accra.

NPP's General Secretary, John Boadu stated in a statement that the media and relevant stakeholders shall be in attendance.

He will be publicly outdoored together with his running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the NPP's presidential pair for the 2020 elections.

Meanwhile, the NPP heads to the polls to elect parliamentary candidates for constituencies with sitting Members of Parliament.

The NPP's internal poll is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 20, 2020. earlier reported that the NPP has suspended six of its members who are polling station officials in the Juaben Constituency of the Ashanti Region.

The six were suspended for 21 days for invoking curses on executives of the constituency because their candidate failed to pass the mark for the NPP’s upcoming primaries on June 20.

The suspension took effect on June 12, 2020, and will end on July 2, 2020.
