While senior high schools are known to have produced some of Ghana’s most prominent personalities, many are still clinching to their past glory.

Achimota School, for instance, has educated many African leaders, including Kwame Nkrumah, Edward Akufo-Addo, Jerry John Rawlings, and John Evans Atta Mills, all of whom are former Heads of State of Ghana.

Many other senior high schools have produced notable people who are contributing enormously to the nation's development.

However, some of these schools continue to take pride in the past days when their school used to perform.

Previously, YEN.com.gh reported that with their exceptional academic records and performance at the National Science and Maths Quiz, eleven Ghanaian schools are regarded as the best senior high schools in Ghana.

While it takes more than just excelling at the National Science and Maths Quiz to be categorised as one of the best senior high schools in Ghana, these eleven schools have also distinguished themselves in other academic engagements and for the past twenty years, have emerged winners of the National Science and Maths Quiz.

In another story, YEN.com.com reported that Ruth has been running her own school for the past three years after she took over her mother’s nursery she started for her colleague nurses.

With about 10 staff now and steady growth, she also decided to gather the proceeds of her work over the years to invest. Her plan was to make more on the monies and expand the school on a bigger piece of land.

In February 2020, Ruth decided to walk her plans into action. She put her saving into a long-term account. However, things didn’t go as planned. Coronavirus set in and caused a major shift in her life and school.
