Reports reaching YEN.com.gh indicate that some of fracas has been created in New Juaben South during voting in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries being held there.
In a live report on United Television and monitored by YEN.com.gh, reporters indicated that one of the delegates who is known to be a card-bearing member of the party was left stunned at the center.
It is reported that the delegate, whose name is still not known, went to the center to vote only to be told that his name is not in the electoral album.
Due to this, some of the polling agents and election monitors reportedly approached the electoral officers to find out why the delegate's name was not on the list.
Video sighted on Dailycelebritiesnewsdogorg on Instagram indicates that the soldiers who had been tasked to keep security at the center, sprang into action to ensure that calm was restored.
The New Juaben South MP, Dr. Mark Assibey Yeboah, is reported to have been at the center where the confusion had erupted but for security reasons, he was asked to stay in his car until tempers were deflated.
Dr. Assibey-Yeboah is slugging it out with Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Board, Michael Okyere Baafi in NPP’s upcoming primaries.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the New Patriotic Party's parliamentary primaries being held today in Effiduase has been disrupted.
Reports have it that one of the two candidates in the primaries, Lawyer Kwame Adom-Appiah, together with some people, drove to the polling center and picked up the album being used for elections.
It is said that he reportedly said if that album was used, the election would not be free and fair.
Following the incident, it was said that the parliamentary aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Effiduase, Lawyer Kwame Adom-Appiah, had been reportedly beaten with one arrest made.
It is reported that the lawyer's polling agent for the election has been arrested following some misunderstanding and near fisticuffs at the election center.
According to reports received on Joy FM's News File, Lawyer Kwame Adom-Appiah had reportedly been injured after he was accosted for disrupting the electoral process.
