NPP Primaries: K.T Hammond retains seat after being challenged for 1st time in 20 years

The MP for Adansi Asokwa in the Ashanti Region, Mr. K.T Hammond has managed to beat his only opponent to retain his hold on the seat that he has defended for 2 decades.

He won by 236 votes as against 170 votes polled by his contender Mr Samuel Binfoh Dakwa.

This year's NPP Primaries is the first time in 2 decades that Mr Hammond has had someone challenging him for the seat in the region.

Adansi-Asokwa Constituency in the Ashanti Region is noted for their immense faith in Mr. Hammond.

However, Mr Samuel Binfoh Dakwa decided to give the incumbent MP a run for his money by contesting him so as to win the hearts had to go to the polls to elect a candidate to contest the parliamentary election.

Hitherto the 2020 primaries of the ruling party, the last five primaries have seen Mr Hammond going unopposed.
