NPP Primaries: Incumbent MP for Tema West Carlos Ahenkorah retains seat

The incumbent Member of Parliament for Tema West Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, has retained his seat for the area.

Meanwhile, prior to the declaration of the provisional results, YEN.com.gh had gathered that the Electoral Commission had fired the EC official for Tema West Constituency for flouting a specific directive of the EC.

According to a report by Peacefmonline, EC Director in the Tema West district, John Kwame Amoah, said they gave their officials specific instructions not to count the results before the 1 pm deadline but the official for the constituency flouted the directive.

Previously, YEN.com.com reported that Parliamentary candidate for Okaikoi South of the Greater Accra Region, Dakoa Newman, has won the seat for the constituency in the ongoing governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries.

The only female candidate in the contest for the Okaikoi South seat floored her male opponents to clinch the win.

Dakoa contested the seat with incumbent Member of Parliament, Hon. Ahmed Arthur and Nana Fredua Agyeman Ofori-Atta. Provisional results indicate that she polled 440 votes from 9 voting centers while the current MP had 327 votes.
