DKB drops video to mock Obour after loss in NPP primaries

Ghanaian entertainment, Derrick Kobina Bonney, better known as DKB, has released a video hours after the New Patriotic Party (NPP) organized its elections to select its parliamentary aspirants for the 2020 elections.

The event was held on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at designated centers all over the country.

The former president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGHA), Bice Osei Kufuor, better known as Obour, contested for the Asante Akyem South seat.

He, however, lost to the incumbent, Kwaku Asare Boateng, by 66 votes.

Following Obour’s defeat in the election, DKB took to social media to share his opinion about the outcome of the election

According to him, Obour’s performance in the primaries was good and he has done his best as a young man.

He added that there are many years ahead and he is surprised about the level of hatred Ghanaians have for the former MUSIGHA boss.

DKB then wondered why some delegates had to raise Obour’s hopes with respect to his chances of winning, only to leave him disappointed after the results were declared.

Meanwhile, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Ms. Sara Adwoa Safo has defeated Mike Oquaye Jnr in the parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The primaries, which were held in some 100 constituencies, started at 7 am on Saturday, June 20, 2020, and ended at 1 pm.

After votes were counted, the deputy majority leader of Ghana's current Parliament came out victories in the tightly-contested Dome-Kwabenya Constituency.

Her closest and only contender, Mike Ocquaye Jnr., took the second spot with just a close margin.
