Rawlings celebrates 73rd b'day with less privileged; distributes PPE's and relief items to them

Former President Jerry John Rawlings has turned 73 today, June 22, 2020.

And as part of celebrations to mark his birth date, he reached out to the less privileged in the society in celebration.

Ahead of the celebration, the former President delegated a team to make donations of PPEs and other relief items to the Pantang Hospital, Mawuvio Outreach Orphanage at Ayikuma and the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.

A video sighted by YEN.com.gh saw packages of provisions being distributed to vendors and other less privileged persons along the Fiesta Royale Traffic Lights, and the Kawukudi Junction.

Former President Jerry John Rawlings decided to share the great day with less privileged people.

As expected, Ghanaians have taken to the post which the former president shared to wish him well.

Asumah asked for a long life for him.

Mananadihno prayed for the continuous blessing from Allah for him.

Awal prayed for him to age with mercy.

Nathaniel prayed for peace to him and his family.

Ansah also wished him a happy birthday.

A photo of former president Jerry John Rawlings wearing a full beard was earlier reported to have popped up online.

Ghanaians were both excited and surprised to see the statesman appearing in a public looking like that.

At the annual June 4 commemoration, he came out looking different from how people knew him to always look.

His new look was admired by many and likened to the famous Santa Claus and Africanist, Wole Soyinka.
