Amazon's Decision to Stream English Premier League Games

Last week, Amazon surprised Premier League fans from the United Kingdom when it announced that it will start streaming certain matches. Some of the soccer enthusiasts will be able to place bets on these matches at Betway. Amazon said that its clients can watch four EPL matches on Twitch. Now, platforms such as Sky and Amazon show Premier League games for free. Amazon acquired the right to broadcast four EPL games. They include:

Crystal Palace vs Burnley (June 29, 8 pm)

Everton vs Southampton (July 9)

Watford vs Newcastle (July 11)

The company hasn't yet confirmed one of the matches. It will air them on Twitch and Amazon Prime Video. Even so, soccer fans from other parts of the world won't access this service because of television rights. Reputable bookies such as Betway have increased their sports betting markets after the English Premier League resumed a few days ago.

Amazon believes that viewers will share their thoughts online on Twitch, according to Deadline. It will be the first time for the platform to stream Premier League games. Lee Dixon, Roberto Martinez, and Gabby Logan will provide pitch-side coverage. The commentators will include Ally McCoist, Peter Drury, Jon Champion, and Clive Tyldesley. Amazon will partner with EA Sports to simulate crowd noise in its broadcasts. It will use the "Stadium Atmosphere" technology.

Alex Green, the Managing Director of Amazon Prime Video Sport Europe stated that the company is keen on offering a memorable sports experience to its clients as it follows various safety measures to protect its production team. Alex further revealed that Amazon has made other additions to offer customers a wide variety of options including streaming Prime Video games on Twitch and full-crowd Stadium Atmosphere. People who make purchases using Prime Video's links may pay a small fee.

Since the Premier League resumed, matches are now played indoors without spectators. Amazon assured its customers that although stadiums will have few people, the Stadium Atmosphere will imitate cheering crowds along with match commentaries. Sky Sports will allow viewers to use the crowd-noise option during games.

Amazon broadcasted its first EPL games on December 26, 2019. It showed ten games on that day and others on New Year 's Day. Reports state that the company paid $112 million to air 20 Premier League games in three years. There are more than 80 EPL games remaining before the 2019/2020 season ends. Twitch will allow viewers to interact with one another during matches. It has partnerships with other sports leagues such as Australia's National Basketball League (NBL), and the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in North America.

Amazon is popular for its exciting films and television shows. Amazon Prime Video Sport announced on 18th June 2020 that it will stream four English Premier League matches on Twitch for free. The tech firm acquired the rights to broadcast Premier League games in the United Kingdom in 2018. Liverpool, Manchester City, Leicester City and Chelsea are the favorite clubs of most punters who wager on the EPL at Betway.
