Cristiano Ronaldo on Monday night, June 22, became Portuguese leading scorer after netting for Juventus in their impressive 2-0 win over Bologna in Italian Serie A.

The former Real Madrid star opened scoring for the Old Lady via a penalty in the 23rd minute before Argentine forward Paulo Dybala sealed the win for Sarri and his men.

He was criticized by Italian football legend Luka Toni before his manager Maurizio Sarri confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo has not been in his best.

Ronaldo's sister even took to social media to defend her brother by attacking Maurizio Sarri after his criticism.

The father of four children has now added another record to his rich career after scoring his 43rd goal in Italy for Juventus in just two seasons.

Rui Costa has been holding the record as Portuguese highest goalscorer in Italy for years after netting 42 goals for AC Milan and Fiorentina in eight years.

Ronaldo's goal against Bologna was his 22nd in the Serie A this season although he is still five behind the current top scorer Ciro Immobile who has bagged a hugely impressive 27 goals for Lazio.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Maurizio Sarri who is the handler of Italian champions Juventus explained that Cristiano Ronaldo is not currently in his physical best for the Turin based side.

His statement comes following Cristiano Ronaldo's unimpressive performances for Juventus since football returned to Europe after almost three months.

During the lockdown, Cristiano Ronaldo was in Portugal with his family and he was spotted many times training in his mansion so as for him to keep fit.

Fans were expecting the former Real Madrid star to hit the ground running after the resumption of football, but Cristiano Ronaldo has not found his rhythm.

Following Juventus' last week defeat against Napoli in the final of the Coppa Itallia, Cristiano Ronaldo has now lost two finals in a row as Juve also lost the Supercoppa Italiana to Lazio.
