COVID-19: Majority of Ghana’s 460 new coronavirus cases from workplaces - GHS

The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Aboagye has revealed that the majority of the latest update and COVID-19 cases recorded in Ghana are from workplaces.

According to him, the cases were recorded in old and gas companies, media houses, and government agencies.

He, however, did not give any figures to the cases recorded in these areas.

But he noted that the majority of Ghana’s 460 new coronavirus cases recorded as of June 25 were from workplaces.

Dr. Aboagye also pleaded with the public to practice speaking through their face masks, as part of efforts to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

He urged the public to desist from removing their face masks when speaking. He encouraged Ghanaians to get use to it the face mask.

He added that removing the face mask to speak will not produce the desired health benefits, hence the need for everyone to wear the masks while speaking.

Ghana has recorded 459 new cases of COVID-19 cases taking the country’s total to 15,472, according to the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye.

The country has also recorded 11,430 recoveries as the death toll remains at 95.

The current active cases are 3,840.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the Accra Technical University – formerly known as Accra Poly – has recorded its first COVID-19 case, authorities announced to students on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.

The affected patient is national service personnel at one of the academic departments, a circular to the university community said.
