On this 27th day of June 2020, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) acclaimed sitting President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the presidential candidate for the 2020 general elections to be held in December.
It was a beautiful, colourful and highly successful event with many exciting highlights out of which YEN.com.gh lists the top 5.
1. Nana Akufo-Addo was declared as the presidential candidate
First and foremost, the grand excitement at the gathering was that the NPP National Council declared President Nana Akufo-Addo as the candidate to lead the party to the 2020 general elections.

2. Nana Addo retained Bawumia as running mate
Another moment of joy was when President Akufo-Addo decided to reinstate his vice as running mate for the 2020 general elections. This was expected but it still undeniably gave the ceremony another wave of cheers.
3. Akufo-Addo assured he will lead the party to victory
President Nana Akufo-Addo's political rivals led by former president John Dramani Mahama have been doing the most to gain back political power in 2020.
However, Nana Addo reassured his people not to shake at all, for he will lead them to victory, and this was such an exciting moment for all attendees.
4. Bawumia told Nana Addo that he will 'surely' get 4 more years from Ghanaians
When it was Mahamudu Bawumia's turn to speak, he did not mince words at all when he mentioned that Nana had done such a great job for Ghanaians that there was no way they were going to deny the president another term in office.
Bawumia's words were very exciting to the audience, to say the least.
5. Bawumia said NDC wants to come back and display incompetence
Dr Bawumia is noted for his hilarious remarks whenever he speaks particularly about their political opponents, the NDC.
On this occasion, the vice president sent a wave of excitement throughout the sitting audience when he made the statement that the NDC wanted to gain power in order to give Ghanaians another dose of their incompetence.
In other news, C.J Pearson, a 17-year-old black political activist who hails from Atlanta has been able to raise a whopping $160,000 to support businesses owned by blacks that BLM protests affected.
A report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Blackbusiness.com indicates that C.J Pearson was able to gather the huge funds with the help of the Georgia Association of Minority Entrepreneurs.
It is also categorically stated that the 17-year-old activist was able to gather the $160,000 in just one week to help stores rebuild.
