NDC names Joshua Alabi as lead of Mahama’s campaign team

- Former vice-chancellor of UPSA, Joshua Alabi chairs NDC campaign team for 2020 polls

- Mr. Alex Segbefia has also been named as his deputy

- The NDC is however yet to announce its campaign structure, according to the statement

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Monday, June 29, named members of its campaign team for the 2020 presidential elections.

According to the statement issued by the party, Professor Joshua Alabi will national campaign manager of the NDC and his deputy will former Health Minister, Alex Segbefia.

A statement signed by the party’s Director of Communication, Kakra Essamuah disclosed that decision was taken by the NDC at a Functional Executive Committee (FEC).

Lt. Col. Larry Gbevlo -Lartey, (rtd) will be playing the role of the Director of Operations of the campaign.

Parliamentary aspirant James Agyenim Boateng will also be the spokesperson for the campaign team. He will be supported by Mrs. Mawuena Trebarh and Ms. Margaret Ansei as deputies.

The Strategic Advisor to the Campaign Team is Gen. R S Blay (rtd).

The statement from the party also named other dedicated and competent party members as part of the Mahama campaign team for the 2020 polls.

All campaign activities will be under the policy direction of the National Steering Committee to be chaired by the National Chairman, Ofosu- Ampofo.

“In accordance with the Party’s constitution, the coordination of all the various aspects of the campaign will be under the leadership of the General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah,” the statement added.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) acclaimed sitting President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the presidential candidate for the 2020 general elections to be held in December.
