COVID-19 patient’s emotional video scares social media: “We are in trouble”

The majority of South Africans feared the worst when the coronavirus hit our shores and President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the initial nationwide lockdown.

However, there's a growing sense that the masses have become discontent with the strict regulations and some have questioned the threat posed by Covid-19.

A controversial video has managed to get the attention of some social media users, as a brave young lady detailed her recent experience with the dreaded virus.

The thought-provoking videos were shared via the Twitter account @PressPlaySA and feature the woman who tested positive for COVID-19.

In the series of short clips, she details her emotions and state of health from her hospital bed.

With tears rolling down her face, she pleaded with Africans to exercise caution and to take the coronavirus seriously.

YEN.com.gh gathered the videos left some tweeps in disbelief.

Chef Mandla Ncumeza (@Chef_Mandlacook) said,

"Honestly speaking I'm scared and it's not even funny anymore. Speedy recovery my sister."

Lesego Petlane (@PetlaneLesego) added,

"This is sad and scary. Are the kids back at school?"

PapaMphoentle (@Ofentse_MJ) said,

"Saw it mabane, was like damn. We are in trouble my guy."

YEN.com.gh previously reported that a wedding ceremony was turned into a ground for commotion after policemen stormed the event that was being held with no regards for COVID-19 preventive protocols.

In the video sighted by YEN.com.gh on Twitter, hundreds of people were captured fleeing the grounds after the police arrived at the marriage ceremony.

Although not explicitly stated, a look at the video shows that it was an Islamic wedding as many people were seen dressed like Muslims.
