The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has explained his choice of Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as his running mate for the December 7, 2020, elections.
According to the former president, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang is a God-fearing and distinguished scholar.
He opined that his choice was also accepted by the rank and file of the party.
"The National Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) unanimously endorsed her nomination on Monday, July 6, 2020," Mr. Mahama posted on Facebook.
Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is the current Africa Board Chairperson of the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE). She has been a FAWE member since 2014. She is a former Minister of Education in Ghana.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang was appointed the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast in 2008, the first female Vice-Chancellor of a public university in Ghana.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that former president John Dramani Mahama has called on the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Jerry John Rawlings.
The flagbearer of the NDC said they had a cordial conversation on Saturday, 4 July 2020.
“I called on HE Jerry John Rawlings this morning in his office to discuss a number of NDC-related issues,” Mr. Mahama wrote on his Facebook page.
