The coronavirus has forced people to think outside the box. With millions infected and numbers continuing to rise, one boy developed the desire to help keep his mom and dad safe.

San Fransisco native Mizan Rupan-Tompkins might only be 12 but he developed a survival tool for the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rupan-Tompkins used a 3D printer to create a device that allows people to open door and a press buttons without actually making contact with the surface.

His Safe Touch Pro Handle is made of plant-based bio compostable plastic, which prevents scratches on surfaces.

EastCoastRadio reported the handle contains silver ion particles which repel micro organisms. This helps protect against bacteria.

Rupan-Tompkins got the idea because he wanted to keep his parents safe. However, his device could help people across the world by limiting the spread of Covid-19 through touching surfaces.

The 12-year-old said:

"No matter how old you are, you’re still able to make a difference."

It appears innovation comes naturally to this genius young man. He reportedly received recognition as an innovator and even built his own computer.
