The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Wontumi, has been chastised by some Ghanaians over remarks he made about the National Democratic Congress (NDC) running mate.
Commenting on the NDC’s choice of Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as John Mahama’s running mate for the 2020 elections, Chairman Wontumi said comedienne and actress, Afia Schwarzenegger, is a better candidate.
He claimed that Afia Schwar is known to have a lot more achievements than Opoku-Agyemang.
To him, the NDC did not take Ghanaians seriously with his choice.
However, his comments have not gone well with many well-meaning Ghanaians and some have called him names.
Rita says she does not even know what the problem is with Chairman Wontumi and the NPP:
Nsiah said it is for some of these things that he will vote against the NPP in the 2020 polls:
James cried that Chairman Wontumi and NPP’s, Abronye DC, make politics unattractive:
Lorreta Ankrah advised that politicians should be mindful of their words:
Richard said even Wontumi brings something to the table:
Wadie called it foolish talk:
Chris called him a “foolish legend”:
Abena said Wontumi needs to respect Prof. Opoku-Agyemang:
Seth believes Wontumi’s behaviour surely shows that the NPP feels threatened by Prof Naana’s appointment:
Meanwhile, the Communications Manager of the NPP, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, has also spoken on the issue.
He called out Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, giving reasons why she is not the right person for that position.
Asamoah listed some reasons he thinks it was wrong for the NDC to have chosen Naana as Mahama’s running mate.
