Obinim’s case adjourns to September 9; court for orders his lawyers to be furnished with all documents

The Kaneshie District Court has adjourned the case of Bishop Daniel Obinim to September 9, 2020.
The court adjourned the case on the grounds that the lawyers of Obinim be furnished with documents needed for his trial to begin.
Assistant Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Asare, earlier pleaded with the court to give the prosecution enough time to investigate the matters at stake.

For now, Obinim is still to remain on the GHc100,000 bail term with three sureties.
He was arrested on a bench warrant by the Criminal Investigations Department on May 19 and charged with the publication of false news and falsification of documents.
Bishop Obinim was charged with the offences of publication of false news and forgery of documents. He is also undergoing investigation for other cases leveled against him.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has sworn heaven and hell to have Obinim jailed.
He says Obinim is a fake pastor and has gone all out to expose him and some of his dealings.
Kennedy Agyappong even released photos and details of 13 women he said were all of Obinim’s girlfriends.

These women included actress Benedicta Gafah and the former wife of Nana Aba Anamoah’s baby daddy, Osebo.
Obinim confessed to sleeping with other women behind his wife's back during their 16 years of marriage.
Osebo thus cursed Obinim and said it will never be well with him.
