- Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury ran into each other while holidaying in Spain
- The duo spent some time catching up on what's new
- Eddie Hearn says the duo urge each other to beat their opponents to make unification fight happen next year
Two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua bumped into British rival Tyson Fury while holidaying in Spain last weekend.
The duo had some time to exchange pleasantries despite being touted to face each other in a unification bough next summer.
Though, both fighters have to beat their respective opponents before they can stage the fight most of their fans have been waiting for.
For Joshua, he has to beat mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev later this year while Fury awaits the date for his trilogy against Deontay Wilder also this year.
The Gypsy King brutally defeated the Bronze Bomber earlier this year in a fight that lasted seven rounds at the MGM Grand Arena in February.
Meanwhile, Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn released the conversation between the Britons when they stopped for a brief chat after running into each other.
"It was amazing, people think it was a setup," he said.
"AJ said he was walking down the road and Fury drove up and opened the window and was like, 'Alright?'
"I think he said to AJ, 'Make sure you beat Kubrat Pulev'. And AJ said, 'Make sure you beat Deontay Wilder'. "And they both said, 'I will, and I’ll see you next year'."
Hearn further revealed that Fury might have to fight Dillian Whyte before a face-off with Joshua after coronavirus pandemic disrupted plans this year.
The 32-year-old Jamaican is said to have been on the queue for a shot at the WBC title and must take on the reigning champion.
And Hearn added: "If they [Fury-Wilder] fight in early December, and we make an agreement to fight in early March, yes, we will accept that.
"I’ll do Whyte-Fury. I’ll stick the dough up. It’s a huge fight. We haven’t heard from Deontay Wilder. He hasn’t been vocal about the third fight but we understand the position.
"Tyson Fury has got to fight Deontay Wilder. Good luck, crack on; it’s difficult for everyone.
"Will they do Fury against Wilder 3, and will they do it in November or December? The cut-off date for Whyte to fight for the WBC title is the end of February, and we expect that to be kept to."
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury bumped on each other in Marbella where they are both holidaying ahead of their proposed fight sometime next year.
Both are in possession of all the belts in their category having defeated the duo of Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz Junior in the last few months.
The two British fighters have constantly made the news in recent times over a possibility of staging a unification fight where one of them will be the unified champion at the end of the day.
