Dr Kwaku Oteng, the owner of Angel Group of Companies, has offered a scholarship to Dominic Fobih, a 10-year-old boy Angel FM has engaged as a sports presenter.
Fobih, a child with extreme insight into sports presentation and analysis on radio, was recently signed by Angel FM.
The boy's signing was announced by the station's Director of Operations, Captain Smart, when he made an appearance on their evening sports show on Friday, July 17, 2020.
In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, Fobih who was named after former Assin South MP and Minister of Education, Professor Dominic Fobih, was seen in the studios of Angel FM with others.
Fobih was heard analysing some foreign stories with the show host Saddick Adams, popularly known as Sports Obama.
After his impressive submissions, Captain Smart was heard saying that his bosses have approved that they sign the boy.
It has turned out the stations' owner was also impressed with the boy's talent and has offered to help nurture him through the scholarship.
According to Sports Obama who hosted Fobih on his show, CEO Samuel Acheampong sent him to go and meet with the boy's parents at Assin Kwamoabeng, a very remote village in the Assin South district in the Central region.
Sharing photos from their trip Fobih's village, Sports Obama's caption partly read:
"Dr Kwaku Oteng was impressed by Dominic's intellect and has decided to offer him a full scholarship to pursue higher education to a level that he can.
"Dr Oteng also wants Dominic moved to Accra as soon as possible. Whiles at it, he will also be understudying the Sports team at Angel Broadcasting.
"I discussed with Dominic, he was more than happy. We, therefore, came here this morning to discuss that with his parents."
Sometimes referred to as Young O5, little Fobih became very popular after a video of him serving his listeners the best of sports news on Assin Fosu-based Splash FM.
Fobih, coached by Nana Kweku Pascal and Mysterious O5, became an internet sensation after that video went viral on social media.
His signing by Angel FM sums a very good year for the young prodigy and sets him up for greatness in the near future.
Fobih will be joining an already star-studded list of radio presenters and personalities at the station.
As previously reported by YEN.com.gh, Angel FM was recently relaunched in Accra with an array of star presenters unveiled.
Already, Ohemaa Woyeje, Kwadwo Dickson, and Sports Obama had been poached by the station.
