Egyptian side, Wadi Degla, has spoken after former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan, was reported to be joining the club.
Wadi Degla, in reacting to the viral reports, denied claims that they are close to signing the Ghanaian footballer.
In a report seen by YEN.com.gh on Kingfut, Wadi Degla said they had no plan to sign Gyan.
Asamoah Gyan is currently without a club after his stay at Indian side, NorthEast United FC, came to an end in January 2020.
The 34-year-old scored four goals in eight appearances with one assist in the Indian Super League.
Wadi Degla are fond of signing veteran players to light up the Egyptian top-flight.
The last to play for them was former Chelsea and France winger, Florent Malouda, in 2016 where he scored three goals in 18 matches.
Gyan has 51 goals in 109 matches for Ghana and is also Africa's highest-scoring player in the history of the FIFA World Cup.
Meanwhile, Gyan has heaped praises on his older brother, Baffour Gyan. According to Gyan, Baffour, who is a retired footballer, has been his second god.
In explaining why he sees his brother as his second god, Gyan said he acted as a guardian angel, ensuring that he has a successful career devoid of the mistakes he, Baffour, committed in the past.
