David Beckham to build 3-metre high hill to protect his £6m mansion

- David Beckham has concluded plans to build a 3-metre hill around his mansion

- The former Red Devils forward wants to reduce noise while maintaining his privacy in the environment

- The authorities are planning to bring a park to the area and it is likely to disturb the peace the retired player has enjoyed

Manchester United legend David Beckham has taken a huge step to protect his mansion from a new holiday park just yards from his bolthole.

The 45-year-old former winger is hoping he can raise the ground level by another 2 -3 metres and create earthworks around a tennis court in his £6 million country pad in the Cotswolds.

This development is expected to help maintain his family's privacy while they create a barrier to noise as reported by SunSport.

The publication further revealed that the upgrade will be done during the construction of a large wildlife lake he’s asked planners for permission to build at the bottom of his garden.

A source revealed: “The hill will create more privacy for the house because it will create a visual and sound barrier to the works going on across the field.

"The area is so flat that at the moment they can see straight across. David and Victoria want to mitigate the impact the development will have on their home.”

According to The Sun, six five-bedroom lodges, a restaurant, a garden and leisure facilities including a pool, gym and tennis court will be built somewhere close to £6m mansion.

Beckham and his family have stayed next door to a derelict 19th-century walled garden but now the site will be turned into an upmarket retreat.

Meanwhile, the authority will rule in the coming weeks on whether David and Victoria can build their planned lake.

A few residents have written letters of objection.

Sue Jones says: "I've lived locally for much of my life and I feel I must object to this monstrous-looking plan. There is no reason for anyone to feel the need to build such an ugly and frankly out-of-keeping with the area body of water.

"It will have a bad affect on the local wildlife which will lose important feeding habitat. Can't people just be happy with the beautiful landscape they have instead of always tinkering with things?"

The £6.15m mansion has a ‘fairytale garden’ designed by Chelsea Flower Show winner Marcus Barnett, and has a pergola, 'natural swimming pond' - using water recycled from the main house - and a fruit orchard of plum, pear, crab apple, wild cherry and witch hazel trees.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that David Beckham once told UFC superstar, Conor McGregor, he wanted to become a fighter when both stars met before the Floyd Mayweather fight in 2017.

The former Man United and England legend visited UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas before the huge crossover fight.

And the Irishman has revealed that the former Real Madrid and PSG star jokingly told him he wanted to try his luck in the octagon.

Also, YEN.com.gh added that Juventus talisman Cristiano Ronaldo is not at the level of Barcelona captain Lionel Messi, according to Man United legend David Beckham.

Despite passing on the No.7 shirt at Man United to Ronaldo, Beckham believes Messi is the only player of his class but the Englishman admitted that Ronaldo comes next after the Argentine.

There have been several debates on who the better player is between Messi and Ronaldo as the duo have won 11 Ballon d’Ors between themselves.
