Ghana has recorded eight more COVID-19 deaths raising the country’s fatalities from 153 to 161.

This was published on the Ghana Health Service‘s webpage which confirmed 691 new virus infections bringing the country’s caseload to 31,057.

The figures represent the results of samples taken between 17th June and 20th July 2020 for testing.

According to the data, 27,801 patients have recovered and/ discharged. There are, however, 3,095 active cases, per the data on the Service’s website.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that government has revealed it spent GHC54.3 million on the cooked it served the underprivileged during the 21-day lockdown in Accra and Kumasi.

According to the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, government also distributed shared GHC50.2 million to over 400,000 most-vulnerable individuals under the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) Programme.
