Black Stars duo, Bernard Mensah and Afriyie Acquah, could not help their clubs maintain their top-flight status in Turkey.
Acquah’s Malatyaspor confirmed their demotion to the first division after losing 1-0 to Gaziantep at home on Saturday, July 25, 2020.
The 27-year-old, who joined last summer on a free transfer, was not part of the team that tasted defeat.

He managed 27 league appearances and scored one goal.
For Mensah, he missed Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Trabzonspor due to suspension.
The 25-year-old scored five goals in 25 league appearances and has been linked with a move to giants, Galatasaray.
The two teams and bottom club, Ankaragücü, who had already been relegated from the Süper Lig, finished the season with 32 points each.

Meanwhile, Former Black Stars forward, Prince Tagoe, is optimistic that André Dede Ayew has the leadership qualities to lead the Black Stars to win the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Ayew was appointed Black Stars captain prior to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt. He took over from Asamoah Gyan.
The former Hearts of Oak footballer believes Ayew could be the right man to lead the Ghanaian football team to victory at the next AFCON.
