17-year-old girl who went viral for repairing heavy vehicle forklift gets full scholarship

Luck has smiled on the 17-year-old Popoopla Esther who went viral on Saturday, July 25, for repairing a forklift.

The Nigerian federal government through the minister of youth and sports, Sunday Dare, on Monday, July 27, said the federal government will give her a scholarship.

Sunday asked @ThepreciousAda to quickly share her contact details for the facilitation of the scholarship.

Hers is not the first time a Nigerian is getting a scholarship after their viral video. A woman, Fade Ogunro, also gave hope to a young boy identified as Anthony Mmesoma Madu whose dancing video went viral weeks ago.

In the video that has been watched over 14 million times, the boy could be seen making amazing lines in the rain on a very wet floor.

He is one of the 24 students at the Leap of Dance Academy in Lagos state, an academy founded in 2017.

On Wednesday, June 24, Fade said she would sponsor the boy’s education until he finishes university.

Weeks later on Wednesday, July 8, the Nigerian shared a snapshot of the boy and another that she pledged to sponsor in school.

Recall that another Nigerian showed that there are citizens in this country with amazing skills to use indigenous solutions to drive the developments that the nation needs. The unnamed man built a soakaway to generate cooking gas and electricity.

The information about his creation and the pictures were shared by a Twitter handle, @yunusxonline. Local media report he is Okwudor in Njaba local government area of Imo state.

In one of the pictures, he could be seen building the soakaway like the one used for toilets, other pictures showed how he worked a pipe transferring the said gas into an industrial burner.

In another news, Ghanaian female auto body repair and spraying technician, Esther Eshun, is breaking barriers and shaping narratives in a male-dominated sphere.

The 35-year-old woman works at Suame Magazine in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. After studying auto body repairs for four years at Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI), she went to Suame Magazine for an internship.
