A courageous young woman has shocked social media after proposing marriage to the love of her life in public in a video that is fast going viral.

In the video sighted by YEN.com.gh on the official Instagram handle of Celebritiesbuzzgh, the lady gets on her knee as a man would normally do to a lady.

It is reported that the two have been a couple for a long time but were yet to take their relationship to the next level by tying the knot.

The proposal takes place in what appears to be a large restaurant filled with different groups of friends and families who have gone out to eat.

When the brave lady gets on her knee, everyone starts cheering her on and the applause only gets louder as the man accepts the proposal.

Men are usually expected to be the ones who propose to ladies and not the other way round, but it looks like that is starting to change.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that a rather unbelievable video surfaced on social media in which a gentleman identified as Daniel publicly rejected a proposal that was organised for him by a lady at a shopping mall.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, the lady organised an entire 'event' to propose to the gentleman with people holding placards with huge inscriptions 'begging' Daniel to accept.

Daniel appeared to be a caring gentleman who was simply not interested in the proposal because as the lady got on her knees he was seen gently asking her to get up and stop making a scene.
