On Monday, July 27, 2020, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) formerly outdoored its running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.
The event, which took place at the auditorium of the University of Professional Studies in Accra, had very few NDC top executives attending.

Some of the NDC national executives present at the event were the party’s leader and flag-bearer, John Dramani Mahama, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, and a host of others.
Speaking at the event, former president, John Mahama, said his choice of Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as his running mate is the “best” for Ghana.
“With Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, I can say confidently that we have made the best choice for Ghana,” he noted.

He also outlined some key initiatives the NDC will undertake if elected into office again.
Mahama said he will pay funds to depositors of the collapsed financial institutions as well as the establishment of a Financial Services Authority.
The NDC presidential candidate further stated he will also appoint women in decision-making positions, amongst others.
After she was introduced to Ghanaians, running mate, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, said the NDC is poised to help build a country that will offer equal opportunities for all.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said Ghana must be in full flight towards sustainable development and becoming a destination of peace, inclusion, self-confidence, plain honesty, and where good old hard work matters.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Ghanaian actor, Prince David Osei, is not happy about former president John Dramani Mahama’s candidature as flag-bearer for the opposition National Democratic Congress.
Speaking in an interview with ZionFelix on the Uncut Show, Prince stated that it is an insult to the nation for the NDC to choose Mahama to lead them in the forthcoming 2020 general elections.
