Responding to the surge in coronavirus infection at the parliament, Zulu said she was not surprised, partly because the legislative body had initially proceeded holding sittings despite the rise in coronavirus cases.

She said: “I guess one saw it coming given the laissez-faire attitude we have in Zambia towards the health guidelines and seeing that at parliament we had continued meeting in person when we should have carried on business from our homes via virtual systems.

“The lack of adhering to guidelines, the politicisation of issues and lack of leadership at a critical time have fuelled the surge in the of Covid-19 in Zambia.”

In other news, Stella Immanuel, who says she is a Nigerian-trained doctor and currently based in the United States of America, has shaken the social media with the claim that hydroxychloroquine cures COVID-19.

Stella prides herself on social media as a "physician, author, speaker, entrepreneur, deliverance minister, God's battle axe and weapon of war".

The doctor works at the Rehoboth Medical Center, Houston, Texas.

The controversy she created has resulted in Facebook sanctioning her while YouTube has blocked her testimonies.

She has, for some days, argued in favour of hydroxychloroquine as cure for COVID-19 while accusing the world and pharmacies of playing politics with the disease.

Stella insists that hydroxychloroquine, zinc and anti-bacterial can effectively cure the fast-spreading disease and save the world the huge number of deaths that she considers needless.
