An unemployed security guard from Armadale, Australia, has turned a millionaire overnight after winning AUD 5.8 million (N1,610,481,895.34) division Oz Lotto prize.

The man whose name was not mentioned for security reason is said to be in his late 20s.

The young man had fallen on hard times due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Perth Now, the man was buying groceries for his three-year-old daughter when he saw the Lotterywest sign and decided to buy a ticket.

YEN.com.gh gathers that the lucky winner said: “I just want to go home and hug my daughter.

“I always say that life could be a dream, and this certainly feels like one. I’m always reading the news about Lotto winners and never thought it could be me.”

According to him, the first person he would to tell about the win was his brother. He said he would share the prize money with family.

He said he had been struggling to buy a house for his brother but will now be able to buy the house for him.

The man said he would also be going back to school to finish his commerce degree and learn how to manage his money.

He added: "My mum will be getting a new car and I’ll buy myself a house and also set up my kids.”
