Mr. President, as you cut sod for works to begin to supply potable water to the Damongo township, I have the belief that it will extend to benefit the junction community, connecting to Busunu, Mempeasem, Dzornukuntu, Atsuvunyo and to Larabanga,” the chief said.

Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa Sulemana Jakpa further expressed his appreciation to the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Hon. Cecilia Abena Dapaah, and to the Managing Director of Ghana Water Company Limited, Dr. Clifford Braimah for their tremendous contribution and bold steps in their resolve to find solution to the acute water challenge in the region.

The Overlord of Gonja lastly, appealed to President Akufo-Addo to help construct more road network linkages and connections within the Region.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Ghanaians will enjoy three more months of free water and electricity supply, Finance Minister, Kem Ofori-Atta, announced during the presentation of the mid-year budget to Parliament.

According to the Minister, the free water will be enjoyed by all consumers and the free electricity will be enjoyed by lifeline consumers.

This will bring it to six months that the water and electricity supplies have been subsidised to help consumers cope with the economic challenges arising from the novel coronavirus.
