On her podcast, Michelle disclosed she was overwhelmed by the pandemic, rampant racism and what she termed as hypocrisy by the Trump administration.

The author said sometimes she wakes up in the deep of the night with an unexplainable heaviness and worry.

"I am waking up in the middle of the night because I am worrying about something or there is a heaviness,” she said.

The 56-year-old added that she had not found many reasons to be happy in recent times and tragedy kept befalling the world.

“Not just because of the quarantine, but because of the racial strife, and just seeing this administration, watching the hypocrisy of it, day in and day out, is dispiriting,” Obama’s wife added.

Michelle further revealed she was spiritually broken and has not felt this beaten down in a while.

As previously reported, the mother of two described her better half as her most favourite guy during his 59th birthday.

The former First Lady shared a throwback photo of themselves while their daughters were still young kids.

"Happy birthday to my favorite guy. Here's to all the good days, blue skies, and new adventures to come," she captioned the photo, adding a kiss emoji at the end.
