Immediate past president of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has been enskinned as chief in his hometown of Bole in the Savannah region.

The 2020 National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer was given the honorary title of ‘Chief of Truth’ by the Bole Wura.

Lovely photos from the traditional ceremony have been posted online with the former head of government also sharing same.

He took to his official Instagram account to make a post about his new traditional role.

After posting pictures from the ceremony, Mr John Mahama captioned them:

"My chief, Bole Wuraa Sarfo Kutuge Feso I, and his elders surprised me with a new title, Chief of Truth, during my visit to Bole on Wednesday. I thank them and the good people of the Bole Bamboi Constituency for their loyalty and support to the NDC and to me, since my entry into politics in 1996."

John Mahama has been touring Bole in the Savanna Region and other towns in Northern Ghana in the past two days after he successfully registered in the just-ended Electoral Commission exercise.

The NDC torchbearer was accompanied by Professor Joshua Alabi, his campaign manager and other top officials of the party.

Mr John Mahama thanked the people of Bole for supporting him throughout his political career and asked for their support once again in the run up to the 2020 general elections.

Among many things, Mahama promised to bring more development to the area if he is re-elected as the President in the December 7 election. earlier reported that General Manager of GH One Television, Nana Aba Anamoah, has defended Serwaa Amihere after her interview with Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah attracted some backlash after a portion of it went viral.

Taking to her Twitter account that has massive following, Nana Aba Anamoah indicated that the interview in its entirety was a super job and patted Serwaa on the back for it.

The award-winning journalist added that Serwaa's trolls would have appreciated the interview better if they had taken time to dissect it.
