Bono NDC and NPP clash: One dead, two in critical condition

- One person has died and two others are in critical condition

- This follows clashes between supporters of the NPP and NDC at Nkrankwanta

News reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that one person has died while two others are in critical condition.

According to a report filed by the Daily Graphic, this follows clashes between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District of the Bono Region on Saturday, August 8, 2020.

Gunshots were reportedly fired that left two people with wounds.

The two affected persons are currently receiving treatment at the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital.

The deceased, who was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, has been identified as Kofi Stephen.

It is unclear what started the confusion that led to the violent clashes.

This incident joins the list of several violent incidents that were witnessed during the Electoral Commission’s just ended voter registration exercise.

In other news, the NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has taken on President Nana Akufo-Addo for the manner in which Ghana’s democracy is growing.

According to the former president, Akufo-Addo’s tenure has ensured the country’s democracy is retrogressing instead of moving forward.

In the latest Facebook post, the NDC leader opined that the Akufo-Addo administration is involved in the oppression of the legislature and compromised state institutions with politics.
