The National Communications Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi, has stated that Ghanaians are desperately in need of a change in government.

According to Sammy Gyamfi, this is because the Akufo-Addo administration has failed Ghanaians in all sectors of the economy.

This situation, he said, has led to what he described as the ‘palpable call for a change of government’.

He made this known while speaking at the party’s weekly press conference at the NDC’s headquarters in Accra, on Monday, August 10, 2020.

Gyamfi said:

“All across the country today there is a palpable wind of change blowing because Ghanaians are crying for rescuing, Ghanaians are yearning for the return of John Dramani Mahama to continue his good works,”

He accused the government of engaging in nepotism, corruption, wanton dissipation of state resources, and thievery.

“Ghanaians are tired of the failed promises of this government, Ghanaians are tired of the hardship we are witnessing under this government, Ghanaians are tired of the deliberate collapse of businesses and jobs under this government, Ghanaians are tired with the unprecedented levels of corruption and nepotism we have witnessed in the last three and half years."

In other news, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama has stated that he is not against the Free SHS education policy in a Twitter post.

However, he has an issue with the poor implementation by the Akufo-Addo government. He noted that anyone that says he [Mahama] intends to cancel the Free SHS policy is a “bloody liar”.

The Free SHS education policy is the flagship policy of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP). The policy was successfully rolled out in September 2017 after the NPP won the 2016 elections.
