Actress and movie producer, Tracey Boakye, has been suspended by the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG).
The suspension of Tracey was announced in a statement signed by FIPAG's president, James Aboagye.
According to the statement, which YEN.com.gh sighted on Nydjlive.com, the decision stems from recent developments involving the actress and singer, Mzbel.
As widely reported, Tracey Boakye and Mzbel recently engaged in banter on social media. The two were fighting over a sugar daddy.
Tracey, especially, rained unprintable insults while proudly revealing all the benefits she has been gaining from her sugar daddy.
Describing the behaviour of the two as regrettable and an affront to Ghana's cultures, traditions, and sensibilities, the statement faulted Tracey more saying she should have acted as a role model.
The statement read:
“Our attention has been drawn to recent publications and circulation of videos social media pistons of vulgar and unprintable exchanges between Tracey Boakye and Mzbel. The contents are so bad and an affront to our Ghanaian cultures, traditions, and sensibilities. The Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) finds their actions very regrettable especially that of Miss Tracey Boakye, who happens to be an actress and a film producer and therefore supposed to serve as a role model."
FIPAG went ahead and apologised on Tracey Boakye's behalf saying her behaviour is something the movie industry does not wish to propagate.
"The FIPAG wishes to render an unqualified apology to the general public and the man involved for her behaviour as that display of character does not represent what the film industry stands for or wishes to propagate. We wish that Ghanaians will find a space in their hearts to forgive her."
For her behaviour, the statement added:
"FIPAG has immediately suspended Miss Tracey Boakye indefinitely. She is not supposed to take part in any of the activities during this period until the situation is reviewed.”
Meanwhile, Tracey Boakye has responded to reports that Sir Sam Jonah is the father of her daughter, Nana Akua Nhyira.
In a statement sighted by YEN.com.gh, Tracey denied the reports saying she had never met Sam Jonah in her entire life
The rumours were part of many that popped up amid Tracey Boakye's beef with Mzbel over an unidentified sugar daddy.
